Nine Lives Media Inc. is a few days away from launching MSPmentor.net and TheVARguy.com. At the same time, we continue to think about our top priorities for our new company. What is Nine Lives Media Inc. right now? And what do we want the company to be in six, 12 and 18 months? Here are some clear answers … and pending questions.
Right now, we really are an online media company serving niche markets. MSPmentor.net has real traffic and multiple sponsors. And The VAR Guy has a loyal, vocal readership and its first sponsors are in place. In fact, many readers are visiting www.thevarguy.com — hoping for a glimpse of his new site, but it remains safely protected from prying eyes until the official launch in a few days.
So, how will our first two sites and Nine Lives Media Inc. evolve over the next few months? Amy and I are discussing a few ideas. And we’re using a range of tools to organize and manage our thoughts. Instead of trading hundreds of emails, we’ve been using Google Docs to develop priority lists — from the simple (reserving site URLs and email addresses) to the complex (how will we manage joint ownership of Nine Lives Media Inc.?).
And we know face-to-face meetings remain the best way to discuss the opportunities — and challenges — that await us. I’m in New York. She’s in Boston. Playoff baseball is bound to get a bit intense in our small company. But in the meantime, we’re willing to meet half-way (somewhere in Rhode Island…) to discuss the road ahead.
