A few weeks after Nine Lives Media Inc. launched MSPmentor and The VAR Guy, Amy managed to sign sponsors across the U.S., Canada and even India. Almost from the start, we were an international sales organization.
Impressive. But I soon learned our international reach also had an editorial component. Although the majority of our readers are located in North America, our media sites have attracted visitors from 108 countries in less than two months. Our following in Europe, Australia and India is growing particularly fast.
Oh, and did I mention our commitment to embracing international bloggers? Our first is from Lima, Peru.
Antonio Ognio is a 31-year-old Web programmer and Linux expert who has joined our new site — All About Ubuntu — as a contributing blogger. Antonio and the rest of our Ubuntu Linux gurus (listed here) will help readers understand how the operating system is evolving across desktops, servers and mobile devices — across the globe.
Our original concept for All About Ubuntu was to help “change the world, one desktop at a time.” That remains one of the site’s core missions. But ultimately, we see Ubuntu becoming a thriving, complex ecosystem filled with application developers, IT managers, consumers and entrepreneurs who are running or building businesses atop Ubuntu.
Even the best media companies sometimes get caught up in Silicon Valley hype. Global contributors like Antonio will help to ensure that our sites continue to offer international perspectives far removed from Main Street USA.
