Nine Lives Media Inc. Content Syndicated Across Reuters, The Wall Street Journal And More

Nine Lives Media Inc.’s content has made the leap from techies to mainstream readers across the globe. Specifically, content from our three initial media sites — The VAR Guy, Works With U and MSPmentor — is now syndicated across Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Sun Times and additional destinations.

The VAR Guy and Works With U syndication are active now. MSPmentor syndication begins in December. Here’s a sample of The VAR Guy syndicated on Reuters. I don’t want to say too much about our syndication strategy, because it’s yet another ingredient in our company’s secret sauce.

PC Magazine Is Dead, Long Live PCMag.com

A few days ago I explained why Nine Lives Media Inc. would never launch a print magazine (unless someone paid us a handsome bounty to do so).

Now comes word that PC Magazine will distribute its final print edition in January 2009, becoming an online-only publication thereafter.

Nobody should be surprised by this move. PC Magazine’s parent, Ziff Davis Media, hinted in multiple SEC filings that the company was strongly considering a move to online-only distribution. And we all know how painful the print IT magazine business has become.
