Nine Lives Media Inc. seeks one or more full-time contract bloggers to generate engaging content for our market-leading media sites (MSPmentor.net, TheVARguy.com, WorksWithU.com). Here’s what we’re seeking. Are you a match?
Position: Associate Blogger (full time contract position)
Description: Entry-level or mid-level contract blogger position at a growing, fast-moving, fast-thinking media company unlike any other you’ve encountered.
As our next full-time blogger, you must blend solid journalism with informed opinions. Recent college graduates and experienced writers who thrive in social media settings encouraged to apply. PR, marketing, computer science and communications backgrounds welcome. Must have basic understanding of SaaS (software as a service), cloud computing, managed services and a passion for emerging technologies (open source, etc.). Ideal candidate will have a tireless work ethic, enthusiastic personality, and a reputation for smiling on the job. You’ll laugh. You’ll learn. You’ll meet deadlines. You’ll scoop the competition. You’ll interact — daily — with our enthusiastic readers. And you’ll grab the spotlight on our growing media brands (MSPmentor.net, TheVARguy.com and WorksWithU) as your stories go viral across the globe. Slackers, underachievers and the uninspired need not apply.
Requirements:
- Clean, concise, well-organized writer.
- Strong work ethic.
- Must meet MULTIPLE daily deadlines; blog entries should require minimal editing; 300 to 650 words or so per entry.
- Self-managing, self-motivated. We’ll give you some daily guidance. But you’ll move fast on your own.
- Willingness to pick up the phone and interview multiple technology companies/sources daily.
- Upbeat attitude. There’s always a solution to a problem.
- Clear understanding of major technology companies (Cisco, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Dell, Lenovo, Oracle, etc.) and strong interest in technology start-ups/emerging companies.
- Bonus consideration: Bloggers who can produce/edit podcasts and multimedia content. Or, bloggers who want to learn multimedia skills.
- Location: New York or Boston preferred. But we’re flexible for the the ideal candidate.
Note: We will also consider part-time freelance bloggers, but our immediate priority is a full-time contract blogger.
